Old Bealonians Golf Society

The society came about after a group of football club members led by Percy Macrae, who else, decided to try their collective hands at the Royal & Ancient game, mostly meeting in the car park at Hainault Golf club and chasing smaller balls round the two courses there.

Some time after it was agreed that a society be formed and members of the Old Beals social club & former pupils invited to join, this mostly meant current and past players of the football teams, they weren't getting any younger and thought it a great way to stay in touch.

It has now grown into some 80 members strong and although not everyone plays in every competition, it is extremely well supported and only the football club section boasts a larger number of members within the Old Bealonians Social Club.

The society has 3 one day events organized for spring, summer & autumn meetings and last year it instigated a new tournament in memory of Percy Macrae. The society also stages annual away trips, visiting various courses including Royal St David's in Wales to Royal Cromer in East Anglia, and many courses in the west and south of England. With help from some self fund-raising the Society celebrated its 20th anniversary recently on the Costa del Sol and has also been seen in France & Holland.

The aim of the society is for the fellowships we have forged over the years to be continued with the friendly, but competitive rivalry within the great game of golf.

Good golf, good friends, good cheer, what more can anyone want?
